The Whisper-Ride Story

As a supplier and developer of specialty hardware products for residential and commercial environments, Wood Technology Inc. has been providing creative solutions for cabinets, furniture and interiors since 1978. With a deep knowledge and understanding of furniture design and interiors we have carefully watched how the consumer electronics industry has transformed our earlier concepts of how we use space in homes, offices and other commercial environments. 

The introduction of the flat screen television at ever more affordable prices is greatly impacting how we consider television placement. Realizing early on the need for new hardware technology to complement new consumer electronic technology Wood Technology, Inc. began the development of the Whisper-Ride Flat Screen TV Lift.

For nearly 20 years we have provided the industries we serve with a scissor type lift for CRT displays but we saw it was time to develop the next generation in TV lifts. Earlier models had been introduced prior to our Whisper-Ride but they have proven themselves to be very costly and difficult to install and maintain. Working together with the highly regarded Danish engineering group ConSet we have succeeded in producing a better all around system for a reasonable price.  

Whisper-Ride takes up the least amount of space in a cabinet or other enclosure measuring less than 10 inches in width and requiring only 2 ¾ inches of depth behind the TV. This allows for a very slender enclosure or cabinet to be built that will not only house the TV but also the rest of the entertainment components as well. Our high quality German Bosch motor provides Whisper quiet operation with a weight capacity of 200 Lbs.
